Projects / Niederrad

In 1973 this was Sidell Gibson’s first major commercial project overseas. It represented over 30,000m2 of office space as part of a campus of headquarters buildings on the city fringe of Frankfurt. Although in principle a headquarters building it was designed for potential adaptation to multi-occupation. The building was unique in the use of a high performance glass skin facade imported from America in contrast to the rather more conventional facades of the neighbouring buildings. This was one of the British client MEPC’s first investments in Europe and we continued to work with them on further buildings in Frankfurt, the City of London and Birmingham.

This initial project in Frankfurt encouraged us to open an office in Berlin that undertook further commercial, hotel and residential projects in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Berlin for a variety of British and German clients.
