Projects / 4-5 Paternoster

Paternoster Square replaces the 1960s William Holford design which had become rather windswept and unloved. The new, more enclosed plaza has become a successful and popular focus to the existing street pattern. The individual buildings have been carefully developed in relationship both with the public realm and St Paul’s Cathedral.

SG developed the detailed design and supervised the construction of three buildings within the development, working with William Whitfield’s concept proposals. These comprised Juxon House, No4 Paternoster & No 5 Paternoster. The development incorporates a car free environment, with retail, restaurant and leisure facilities at ground floor level and creates a key pedestrian route between Cheapside, Ludgate Hill and St Paul’s Underground station.
